It’s not all about the drills

Step-by-step checklist for starting, marketing and running successful basketball camps.

Running basketball camps, on the surface, seems to be all about skill development, and scrimmaging. Yes, skill development and scrimmaging are big parts. But equally important are the life lessons taught, and discipline instilled in the kids.

In fact, I take it one step further, some kids (and parents) attend our basketball camps primarily because of the life lessons and discipline. How do I know? They tell me!

Truth be told, when a kid is impacted beyond the lines, I get even a bigger high!

In my opinion, basketball coaches are missing a huge opportunity by not hitting on those life values. Coaches MUST emphasize to kids to be their best selves on and off the court.

By doing so, kids will have a deeper appreciation for what you bring, parents will love you, and your basketball camp business will thrive!
