5 inexpensive marketing ideas

Step-by-step checklist for starting, marketing and running successful basketball camps.

When running basketball camps, the name of the game is awareness! You want as many people as possible, in your target market to know that you’re running basketball camps.

In my 12 years of running basketball camps, here are my top 5 inexpensive marketing ideas:

  1. Business cards
  2. Flyers
  3. Brochures
  4. Car magnets
  5. Yard signs

Business cards are a no-brainer. You should always keep business cards in your wallet, or car. You never know who you’ll meet. At which point, you’ll always be able to give them something relating to your basketball camp.

Flyers are also a must. Nowadays, you can get high-quality, full color, double-sided, 4 x 6 flyers for as little as 0.02 per flyer. Just like business cards, I always keep some in my car. You never know who you’ll see. For information on the vendor I use, hit me up.

Brochures are nice to have, especially when you’re first starting out. It lays out who you are, and what your basketball camp is about in detail.

Car magnets are part of my “GUERILLA” strategy. Why not turn your vehicle into a mobile billboard?! I’ve done this for years, and have enrolled many campers by car onlookers jotting down basketball camp contact information, and then following up.

Yard signs burst me out on the scene. They’re great because you place yard signs in and around the gym, where you’ll host basketball camps. It gives you the right exposure in the right area, and fast.
